The Ghost Job Index
Ghost jobs — postings that are stale, already filled, or never real — waste job seekers' time everywhere. This page is our live, honest measure of the opposite: how fresh the postings on this board are, read from companies' own hiring systems, and how often they come down.
Every figure is computed from the full lifecycle of postings on companies' official job boards (Workday, SmartRecruiters, Breezy, Oracle, Teamtailor, Personio, Pinpoint, Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, BambooHR, Workable, Rippling, Recruitee, iCIMS, Paylocity, UKG Pro Recruiting, ADP Workforce Now, JazzHR), each read from employers' own hiring systems, not copied from other job boards. Any posting whose company-stated date passes 30 days is dropped automatically, we log every takedown we see (a takedown is never called a hire: a hire, a withdrawal and a cancelled requisition look the same from a feed), and we sample listings daily and re-check them against the companies' own systems. Where a company states no date at all we can't judge the posting old, so we keep it and show no age rather than guess one.
What the board holds right now

- 13.7 days — median age of an open posting, by the date the employer itself put on it — 99.7% of postings state one and the rest are excluded from this median, never estimated
