Napesco BU is seeking an experienced API 6A Welder to join our oil & gas manufacturing team. The successful candidate will execute corrosion‑resistant cladding, ensure strict compliance with welding procedures, and collaborate with NDT inspectors to deliver flawless, code‑compliant welds on critical pressure‑vessel components. Perform high‑quality welding and corrosion‑resistant cladding/inlays on wellhead components, flanges, and valves per API Spec 6A. Read, interpret, and follow approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR). Prepare, clean, bevel, and fit up joints to ensure proper penetration and alignment before welding. Apply SMAW, GTAW (TIG), GMAW (MIG), and FCAW techniques on carbon steel and specialty alloys such as Inconel, stainless steel, and duplex. Control pre‑heat, interpass temperatures, and post‑weld heat treatment (PWHT) as required for API 6A material classes. Conduct visual inspections of welds to verify zero surface defects before NDT testing. Assist NDT inspectors with radiographic, ultrasonic, magnetic particle, and penetrant testing and perform precise weld repairs when needed. Maintain welding machines, holding ovens, and tools, ensuring all gauges are calibrated and equipment is in optimal condition. Document welding activities, inspection results, and repair actions in accordance with company and regulatory standards. Promote safety and quality best practices within the welding team and across the department. Diploma in Welding Technology or equivalent. Certified Welder under API 6A and AWS standards. Minimum 3 years of experience welding pressure vessels or wellhead components in the oil & gas sector. Proficiency with SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, and FCAW processes. Knowledge of carbon steel and specialty alloys (Inconel, stainless, duplex). Experience applying and monitoring pre‑heat, interpass, and PWHT requirements. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, WPS, and PQR documents. Familiarity with visual inspection techniques and assistance in NDT methods. Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with engineering and inspection teams.
