A Brief Overview Working with the Head of Claims, support the execution of RGA India’s Claims Management strategy and day-to-day claims activities. Deliver timely, high-quality claims service to clients with a strong focus on customer centricity and customer satisfaction; identify and escalate potential risks; and develop and maintain strong client relationships. Support digitalization and automation initiatives, and review and refine processes to achieve operational excellence. This role will report into Head of Claims for claims-related responsibilities. The Director, Claims will be a member of the RGA India Leadership Team and will play a key role in supporting and strengthening the customer service initiatives, with a dotted-line reporting relationship to CEO of RGA India. What you will do Lead day-to-day claims operations and deliver timely, high-quality claims assessment, consultation, training and audit services in accordance with treaty terms and conditions, RGA standards, guidelines, Claims Philosophy and delegated claims authority, with a strong focus on customer centricity and satisfaction. Review and provide timely claims and risk-management input on product design, policy provisions, treaty wordings, business development proposals, claim forms, claims guidelines and business campaigns to support sustainable business growth and positive customer outcomes. Build and maintain strong relationships with client claims and medical teams, underwriting functions and senior stakeholders to understand their needs, enhance customer satisfaction and support retention, growth and strategic business objectives. Champion a customer-centric approach by providing responsive, practical and value-added claims solutions, proactively engaging clients, resolving service issues and continuously improving the overall client experience and confidence in RGA. Analyse claims experience and trends, produce periodic dashboards and management reports, and identify and escalate emerging risks, operational issues and service gaps arising from claims handling, audit programmes or claims reporting. Lead and support claims digitalisation, automation and process-improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, service quality, responsiveness and the client experience. Design and deliver training programmes, workshops and knowledge-sharing sessions that strengthen client claims capabilities, promote best practices and improve the consistency and quality of claims outcomes. Maintain current knowledge of relevant life and health insurance claims trends, regulatory developments, emerging risks and industry practices, and translate insights into practical improvements for RGA and its clients. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the manager from time to time. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in Arts/Sciences. 15+ Years of claims experience in life & Health industry, and at least 5 years in Reinsurance. Deep understanding of the market, product, client and regulation. Advanced knowledge of medicine, law, accounting, and finance as applied to the evaluation of life reinsurance risks. Capable of multitasking and prioritization. Balanced technical skills and business sense. Able to deal with pressure. A high level of personal accountability and integrity (acting with transparency and honesty). Strong interpersonal skills, sound judgment, and ability to work effectively with clients and stakeholders. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Familiar with digital tools, strong data analytic skills and creatively thinking.
